Equipment Loan Program
The Basics:
Location: Vitale Digital Media Lab in the Weigle Information Commons, Van Pelt Library.
Eligibility: Current Penn students, faculty and staff.
Borrowing Period: up to 3 days at a time.
Overdue fines: $50 per day up to the replacement value of the camera.
Cameras may be used for academic or personal purposes.

The cameras and audio recorders come in shoulder bags with various cables and an operating manual.
Procedure:
• Check equipment availability online or by email to wic1@pobox.upenn.edu.
• Please request equipment via our request form.
• We will send you a confirmation email if a camera is available as specified.
• You will be expected to read and sign an equipment loan agreement each time you borrow a camera.
• Before borrowing a camera for the first time, you are expected to watch a short instructional video.
• Our equipment loan guidelines and checklist provide additional information.

Sony HDR-HC7 Video camera
4 $1200 Capable of High Definition or Standard Definition. Includes earphone jack and external microphone jack. Users must provide their own mini-DV cassettes.
Tripod

Zoom H2 Handy Recorder
3 $250 Audio recorder. Records to WAV or mp3 on included SD card. Powered by 2 AA batteries or AC Adapter. PC or Macintosh.
Snowball microphone
3 $140 For use with your own laptop or desktop computer. USB interface. Does not connect to videocameras.
Shotgun microphone
1 $110 For use with the Sony cameras only. Requires LR44 battery and hotshoe adapter (both included).
