2008 Mashup Video Contest: Deadline is March 17

`mashup video. /ˈmæʃ∙əp ˈvɪd∙ɪ∙əʊ/. noun. A video that remixes or repurposes material from existing video. Addition of original footage is acceptable.`
Prizes (Prizes may be taxable) 1st prize: Digital Video Camera 2nd and 3rd prizes: iPod Shuffle Sponsored by Penn Libraries, the Cinema Studies Program, and College Houses and Academic Services
Guidelines Length: Run time not to exceed 3 minutes Eligibility: Currently enrolled Penn undergraduate and graduate students (individuals or teams). Each student can be the lead filmmaker on only one entry. Submission: Due by 9 pm on March 17th, 2008 (the day classes resume after spring break). Application must include a completed application form and DVD disk. Please bring applications to the Vitale Digital Media Lab in the Weigle Information Commons, 1st floor west, Van Pelt Library. Judging: A panel of Penn faculty will review the entries on criteria including: Creative, sophisticated use of existing material for new purposes Quality of technical aspects, design and structure Ability to engage a variety of audiences Review the 2007 winners. Resources in the Weigle Information Commons The PCs and Macs in the Commons provide video editing software. The Vitale Digital Media Lab provides capture capabilities.
