This year's contest theme is CHANGE in conjunction with the Penn Reading Project book Your Inner Fish and the Penn Humanities Forum. We welcome our student filmmakers to interpret this theme broadly. Awards Event: Contest Winners were announced on April 30, 2009. |
Prizes

1st prize: Digital Video Camera

Guidelines
Length: Run time not to exceed 3 minutes
Eligibility: Currently enrolled Penn undergraduate and graduate students (individuals or teams). Each student can be the lead filmmaker on only one entry.
Submission: We will accept video, audio and other multimedia entries. Due by 9 pm on April 24th, 2009. Entry must include a completed application form and DVD disk. Please bring entries to the Vitale Digital Media Lab in the Weigle Information Commons, 1st floor west, Van Pelt Library.
Judging: A panel of Penn faculty and student judges will review the entries on criteria including:
- Creative, sophisticated use of existing material for new purposes
- Quality of technical aspects, design and structure
- Ability to engage a variety of audiences
- Relevance to this year's theme of change

Resources in the Weigle Information Commons
The PCs and Macs in the Commons provide video and audio editing software. The Vitale Digital Media Lab provides capture capabilities. Students can explore hands-on workshops on video-editing, and borrow videocameras and audio recorders. Call 215-746-2661 or email wic1@pobox.upenn.edu.
