Design a Poster?

You can design a poster in PowerPoint or using professional software such as PhotoShop, InDesign or Illustrator. We print posters in our Media Lab and we offer workshops on graphic design software. Our lab consultants can guide you on photo and graphic editing.

Create a Video?

You can make a video:

• of a small group activity on DVD easily in our video recording rooms (check out our tutorial).
• of your face easily using the webcams on the laptops in our Data Diner Booths , Group Study Rooms, Seminar Room or Media Lab
• with a borrowed videocamera anywhere.

You can edit a video:

• using free Windows Movie Maker software in our Data Diner Booths and Group Study Rooms
• using iMovie in our Media Lab and Seminar Room
• using Final Cut Pro in our Media Lab.

Videoconference?

The best location for videoconferences is the WIC Seminar Room since the room-based system provides high-quality video and audio. Groups of up to 20 can participate.
Skype works very well with small groups ( up to 6 people) on the iMac computers in Group Study Rooms.
Skype can be used by individuals with the webcams in the PC laptops in our Data Diner Booths and in Group Study Rooms.

Record audio?

You can record your voice:

• using the built-in microphones on the laptops in our Data Diner and Group Study Rooms.
• using the ceiling-mounted microphone in our video recording rooms.
• using microphones and audio recorders from the equipment lending program
• using the Glossberg Recording Room on the fourth floor

You can record music:

• using the MIDI keyboard in the Lab.
• using the keyboard in the Glossberg Recording Room

Edit Audio?

You can edit audio:

• using Audacity on all PCs and Macs in the Commons
• using GarageBand in the Lab

Print from your own laptop?

Scan a document?

Collect student feedback and assessment?

You can use clickers in our Seminar Room for live audience response activities.
