Evernote: Evernote is growing in popularity as a powerful way to combine personal and professional tasks, schedule and research content. Update your information from any device and stay on top of your academic and professional goals. Presented by Eli Lesser, Director of Summer Academic Sessions at the College of Liberal and Professional Studies.
Flickr: Flickr is a photo sharing service that allows you to share your photos, connect with friends and stay in touch. Flickr also provides easy ways to find great images, and use social tagging to manage your finds.
Google Maps: Learn how to make your own maps with annotations, HTML, videos and images using Google Maps. Presented by David Toccafondi, Vitale Digital Media Lab Coordinator.
iPad Tips for Beginners: Explore how to get more from your iPad. Bring yours or use one of ours. Designed for new users. Presented by David Toccafondi, Vitale Digital Media Lab Coordinator.
iPads for Time Management:Chia-Ying Pan from Weingarten Learning Resources Center will discuss ways to use your iPad to be more productive and manage your time in new ways.
iPads for Music Creation: Darian Anthony Patrick from ISC Networking and Telecommunications will share his experiences with music creation apps on the iPad. Darian plans to discuss MIDI formats, audio copy and paste options and a variety of music apps such as Midi Monitor, Korg iMS-20, Moog Filatron, NanoStudio, ThumbJam, SoundPrism, Pianist Pro and Multitrack DAW.
Poll Everywhere: Poll Everywhere is a web-based voting system where students can answer open-ended questions via text message, web or twitter. Anne Schwieger from the Netter Center for Community Partnerships, Sterling Baltimore, Director, Lea Community School, and Maurice Jones, Parent, Lea Community School, will share lessons learned from using Poll Everywhere at outreach events and instruction sessions.
Prezi: Prezi is a web-based tool that outshines PowerPoint in many ways. It allows you to create and present presentations with motion and organic structure, and keeps your audience engaged. Presented by Nancy Bellafante.
Smart Phones: Explore a variety of new phones: Windows Phone 7, Android, iPhone 4, BlackBerry Torch and more. Presented by Jordan McClead from ISC Client Services.
Social Media Finetuning: Have you been meaning to set up a LinkedIn profile? Edit your privacy settings on Facebook for your job/internship search? Create a Twitter account to illustrate your expertise? This hands-on workshop will allow you to do just that. Shannon Kelly from Career Services will work with you to create, edit and enhance your social media profiles to give you an edge in your professional endeavors.
Tumblr Tour: Tumblr is a blogging tool with advanced multimedia capabilities that lets you share just about anything - email, photos, videos, websites. Tumblr is increasingly popular with undergraduates. Presented by Sarah Jacoby.
Wordpress Tour: Wordpress is a professional blogging platform. We will provide a guided tour of its features and capabilities. Presented by Sarah Jacoby.
