Penn Students and Global Engagement
This annual commons-wide event provides a forum for students to share experiences abroad. The 2008 event happened on January 31, 2008 from 6 to 8 pm. The 2007 event happened on April 11, 2007 from 6 to 8 pm. The event websites include presenter and international food details, and the 2007 website includes a photo gallery.

Culminating event of the 2007 student Mashup Contest to create a trailer that parodies a well-known film. Panel discussion with Peter Decherney (Cinema Studies) and Nelson Gayton (Wharton School) moderated by Provost Ronald Daniels. The panel discussion will be followed by a viewing of top contest entries, the awarding of prizes for the best use of parody, and a reception in the David B. Weigle Information Commons.

Learn the basics of how to create your own personal bibliographic citation
database using this popular personal information management commercial
program. The workshop will focus on how to manually enter references into
your database, load citations from a bibliographic database into EndNote and

management program, RefWorks. If you have not yet purchased Endnote,

popular Mac programs. iPhoto lets you take photos easily and make photo

PhotoShop: Beyond the Basics
Special topics with PhotoShop - assumes knowledge of topics covered in
PhotoShop I.
Layers in PhotoShop
In this fast-paced class, we will introduce and explore one of the most
fundamental yet powerful features in Photoshop -- Layers, which allow you to
edit your images in a nondestructive way, isolate areas of your images for
specific adjustments, repair damage, correct & enhance colors, fix problems in
composition, and more, all while retaining as much flexibility and editability as
possible. We will examine the Photoshop Layers palette, color adjustment
layers, layer masks, type layers, shape layers, blending modes, and tricks for
organizing complex files. This class assumes a working knowledge of
Photoshop basics.

as well as your personal laptop if appropriate. We will share tips and tricks for
