Course Objectives

This training is an introduction to iMovie, intended for people with no prior knowledge of video editing.

In this course you will learn how to:
  • use the iMovie interface
  • create a new iMovie project
  • import and edit video clips
  • arrange video clips, sounds, titles, and transitions into an iMovie time line.
  • insert still images into your projects and augment them with the Ken Burns effect
  • edit the audio in your project, add sound effects, and record your own voice into your iMovie project
  • export your iMovie project to a file you can burn to DVD or upload to the internet.

Already have your own Mac?
If you have a Mac, then you already have iMovie! At the lab, we prefer iMovie 06 over the newer iMovie08. If you have iMovie 08 on your Mac, you can download iMovie 06 for free at:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/imovieHD6.html

Don't have a Mac?
If you have a Windows PC, you probably already have Microsoft's free video editing software called Movie Maker installed. Find out more about Movie Maker at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/default.mspx
